Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Holy cow. Chantelle Handy going off for 23 and 12 on 10/15 shooting. I was sat behind her family last week at the games in Guildford and their support and enthusiasm was infectious. They'll be going bonkers. Maybe our small forward spot isn't quite so horrible without Leedham after all (although I'd be more than happy to see her out there at the 2 with Handy).GSimas wrote:Great Britain 74-56 Crotia (it's over.)
Two really good wins for us this week, anyway.

Hmm, I should try to do the same for my own team, otherwise they look as helpless.

Leedham expected to be ready to play by the time we get to Latvia, according to Tom Maher.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
I'm officially going on record saying that Latvia will get blown out in all three games in Eurobasket!

At half-time at the WNBA game I am bordering on being unpatriotic and saying the same thing about GB but I am NOT giving up yet - they have had a rouugh schedule I guess

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
I said that being patriotic - look what happened to Belgium when I assured they don't have a chance to qualify.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Took me until I was walking out the door to properly realise that I'm pretty sure that was you I met in the interview room after the game . My apologies for not being a bit more responsive, but I hadn't left the building since shootaround at 10am, and I think I was going a bit stir-crazy by that point.Paulball Nilsen wrote:At half-time at the WNBA game I am bordering on being unpatriotic and saying the same thing about GB but I am NOT giving up yet - they have had a rouugh schedule I guess
Not a great night for Team GB, but well, I think most European national teams would struggle with the Dream, even the understrength version we just played - especially when Coco Miller has one of her 1-in-10 nights.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
How is it possible for ADF and Murphy to play side by side for Montenegro? Only one "stolen" player is allowed to play right? Does this rule only apply in official tournaments?

Montenegro try to integrate those Americans in a team.
In official game will be allowed to play only one American.
Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Yeah, seems like you can play pretty much anyone you like in these friendly games (same way your nationality is only 'locked in' when you actually play in an official FIBA competition). GB have been doing the same thing with Natalie Stafford and Steph Gandy, assuming Gandy counts as naturalised (I've given up trying to work out these rules - we've got two other players on the roster who weren't born here either, and why neither counts as 'naturalised' I don't know).przemoe wrote:How is it possible for ADF and Murphy to play side by side for Montenegro?
