New jerseys?
http://www.salamancaendirecto.com/index.php?news=20374
"In the next Euroleague Women General Assembly, that will take place in June 7, Euroleague wants to impose new equipment rules on teams.
Each team must decide to start using adjusted equipment or body (like Australian National Team or the Euroleague All Star 2011 game). The new rule will make teams use shorts 10 cm above the knee."
Are they serious?

Re: New jerseys?
Ugh! Not sure what to say other than that.
There's an online petition against it http://www.petitiononline.com/SEWENR/petition.html
Edit: I don't have any illusions as of the usefulness of online petition but reading some comments is quite fun.

Re: New jerseys?
1st off I doubt majority of the teams would vote in favor of that
2nd
looks like around 10 cm above the knee, didn't result in increased attendance, useless if they want to sexize the the product on the floor - people watch lingerie football for that.

No more unisex uniforms!
Re: New jerseys?
It´s ridiculous! I think it would be a terrible mistake.

I really don't like those, for me it looks like the players forgot to put their shorts on...

Re: New jerseys?
It isn't just in EuroLeague Women, I hear the EuroLeague men are having to change uniforms also and here is the catalogue they will be forced to choose from

Why would those men watch basketball if there's beach volleyball where you can barely see any clothes on players.

Re: New jerseys?
According to the FIBA Europe regulations for Euroleague Women 11/12:
1. Shorts and shirt must be narrow, following the curves/contour of the body.
2. Shirt should show the shoulders of the player, cut like a tank top.
3. Shirt fails over shorts (just over the board of shorts). If too long, the shirt must be locked in.
4. Width of the shorts: a maximum of 2 centimetres of space is allowed between the fabric of the shorts and the skin (on both sides of the leg).
5. Shorts cannot extend lower than 10 centimetres above the knee.

Re: New jerseys?
Or what? The game commissioner and referees will run around with scissors and make the necessary adjustments?

This issue was already decided during the General Assembly last month and the rules are as were mentioned earlier by bball.
