Re: Additional Qualifying Round
Thanks Ville - seems like nobody is shooting the ball well but things coul change for Hungary if Bulgaria win that game!
Re: Additional Qualifying Round
How do you combine what follows:
1) they "should have lost"
2) they have won with +14 and +12 points?
It's not what you'd call a narrow escape, looks rather convincing, could you tell us a little bit more?

Wow, they've already won, I mean now they can't lose this game. It's a big surprise for me, really.

Yeah, you never can be sure, that's what the sport is about.
I wouldn't be disappointed - as it should be easier for Hungary to play against Germany. And it should be easier for Poland, too.
Now Germans are in a very very very good situation but they still have to defeat Serbia. And it won't be that easy, I guess.

Re: Additional Qualifying Round
Told you she was useful and that this German team had a shot in the AQT (at least I think I did - all these boards meld into one after a while ). Bernthaler's doing a really nice job with this squad.

So, we reckon it is one from Italy, Germany, Hungary.
But Serbia and Bulgaria still have a shot?

For Serbia to have a chance it would require them to win Germany and Italy to lose to someone. Bulgaria has to win out to go through.

Re: Additional Qualifying Round
If I understand the rules correctly the AQT is basically over. Germany and Hungary have advanced to the play-offs for the final spot. The six remaining games are meaningless.

Yeah, funny how it played out - the first team to complete their four games in either group put together a record good enough to have secured victory.JohnyK wrote:If I understand the rules correctly the AQT is basically over. Germany doing all this without their supposed best player as well. Doubt they're interested in adding her either, at this point, even if Frohlich wanted to join up now the Sky have cut her.

Re: Additional Qualifying Round
People say she can be a chemistry killer - not sure how fair that is and if untrue, she could give Germany extra depth but I agree - just can't see the Coach wanting to disrupt the momentum

Game tied at half. Hungary needs 7 more to advance or 6 to force overtime.

Re: Additional Qualifying Round
Unless Hungary score 17 in the last couple of minutes, Germany is the last team that has qualified for Eurobasket Women 2011.

Zee Germanzz.
Basically, this is better for us. Somehow I think Germany is an easier opponent with less options. But like it's often happened - team from AQR does well in the main tournament, so maybe it's no diffrence.

I don't think that's the case. The way I remember it they've had at least 4 different leading scorers in the last 6 games.

Basically, Germans are much more unpredictable:P while Polish and Hungarian teams know each other very very well.
