Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Croatia losing considering they've been together for a week is not a surprise. Montenegro getting destroyed by GB is.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Such a result between Great Britain and Montenegro is a big surprise to me, more particularly as the brightest stars were on the roster. Good news for Poland, though.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Montenegro is in Turkey without Jelena Škerović who is injured with her knee. She should be OK soon.
Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Yeah, but GB continue to play without Jo Leedham, one of the key players on last years team, so that's a wash.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
All clear then. Skerovic is not one of the key players, she's simply the key player for Montenegro:) I mean irreplaceable.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
I wouldn't call her that. Maybe she gives some leadership but number production wise she's not irreplaceable by any means.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
It's all about the leadership. There are many other players on the squad who can execute, but there's no comparable playmaker. But I'd be happy if you were right, it would mean Montenegrians are not that dangerous as they seem to be. Considering particular players, they look way better than Polish team.

Wow, that would apppear to be continuing progress for our girls, anyway. Thanks for the numbers already provided GSimas, but is there a full boxscore anywhere?

Doesn't look like any one of players names is even female not even talking about English.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Judging from the numbers, DeForge would appear to be comprehensively outplaying Murphy for Montenegro's naturalised spot. Wonder if Shay will try to kick up some WNBA interest after she gets cut. 'Couldn't beat out 35 year-old Anna DeForge' doesn't exactly spice up a resume though...
Thanks for the extra stats, guys.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Turkey hit 12 3s, we hit 1 - tells the story. No Leedham and no Stafford decimates our already thin perimeter.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Poland - Czech Republic 51:48. I don't see the stats, but the number of turnovers must be impressive and Czech's FT efficiency rather disastrous... Happy with the final result, though.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
51:48 not 49 . Poland had 25 TO's. Czech Republic shot 28% from the game. Wasn't that enjoyable game to watch but better that than nothing.

Re: Pre-tournament schedule
Sure it was great to see their game, even if it was not that good as we could have expected. Both teams have a lot to do during next weeks;)
